Fire damages New Haven mobile home, woman rescued by firefighters


OVERNIGHT REPORTER ROD HISSONG WAS AT THE SCENE IN NEW HAVEN. HE JOINS US NOW WITH THE LATEST DETAILS. THAT WOMAN WAS FOUND INSIDE HER MOBILE HOME AT THE CEDARWOOD TRAILS MANUFATURED HOUSING COMMUNITY. NEW HAVEN ADAMS TOWNSHIP FIREFIGHTERS WERE CALLED TO 6008 MOELLER ROAD LOT 1-71 AROUND 2-15 THIS MORNING. FIRE OFFICIALS TELL US THE FIRST FIREFIGHTERS QUICKLY WENT INSIDE AND LOCATED THE WOMAN. THEY HAD GOOD INFORMATION FROM 9-1-1 DISPATCHERS THAT SOMEONE WAS TRAPPED IN A BEDROOM AND WAS TRYING TO BREAK A WINDOW TO GET OUT. THE WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR EVALUATION, BUT WE DON’T KNOW HER CONDITION. OFFICIALS WERE ABLE TO QUICKLY GET THE FIRE UNDER CONTROL, DESPITE GUSTY WINDS. WE’RE TOLD NO ONE ELSE WAS HURT AND THE FIRE DOES NOT APPEAR SUSPICIOUS. OFFICIALS ALSO TOLD US THERE WERE SOME PETS INSIDE THE HOME, BUT WE DON’T KNOW IF THEY MADE IT OUT. INVESTIGATORS ARE TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT STARTED THE FIRE. LIVE IN THE NR, RH, NC15.
