Fresh Meat front to back Transitions for Roller Derby

Fresh Meat front to back Transitions for Roller Derby

We are going to now teach them to close open
close and this is my introduction into going from forward to backward and then a little
bit of backwards to forward and side skating. So you are going to have them turn sideways
on the track, you’re going to have them shift their weight to their left leg they are going
to pick up and put weight on their right foot, you want to make sure they don’t go all the
way onto their toe stop they just want to be able to roll onto their front wheels. They are going to open their foot, they are
going to be coming sideways and then they are going to pick up their heel again weight
wants to be on those wheels not on the toe stop and then they are going to slide it around. So in a faster motion it’s going to go heel
all their weight on their right foot heel lifts up toe on the ground two wheels on the
ground they need to make sure their weight is centered between right leg and their left
leg and weight is in their heels then they are going to shift their weight to their left
foot and they are going to slide their right foot around together. We will do it again, weight on their left
leg, toes open center, weight on their right leg toe.
