How to do Frontside and Backside Reverts on a Skateboard (Tutorial)

Hi, my name is Justin Lauria, and today I’m
going to teach you how to do a skateboard trick called a revert. A revert is a trick that involves rotating
your board and your body 180 degrees while leaving at least one set of wheels on the
ground. Reverts can be used to get into and out of
your switch stance without stepping off your board, or you can use it to link together
multiple tricks. You can do reverts on almost any terrain,
but they get easier if you do them on smooth or painted concrete. If you already know how to do powerslides,
you will be able to pick up this variation pretty fast. First we’ll go over the frontside revert. To do a frontside revert, you want to set
up your feet so that your back foot is on the tail of your board and your front foot
is over top of the front wheels, placed just a little more forward than usual. Then, get some forward momentum, bend your
knees, and turn your shoulders to face forward. Once you’re in this position, stand up straight
and kick out your back wheels in an attempt to rotate your board 180 degrees. It helps to put a little bit of your weight
on the front foot at this point, so your back wheels can slide around with the smallest
amount of friction possible. Once your board does the full 180 degree rotation,
finish rotating your shoulders and ride away switch. If you’re having trouble getting the technique
down, you can try out this practice step. With a little bit of speed, put your front
foot on the nose of the board, and rotate your shoulders to face forward. Then, press
down on the nose of the board so that your back wheels come off the ground, and spin
the board around 180 degrees. This should help you get used to the motion
of frontside reverts before you actually try to overcome the friction of sliding your wheels
on the ground. Backside reverts are a little harder to learn,
so I recommend having your frontside reverts down solid before you move on to doing them
backside. When you revert backside, you’re going to
rotate more on your back set of wheels, so you don’t need to put your front foot up past
the front wheels this time. Start by getting a little speed, then crouch
down and turn your head and shoulders to face backwards. Once you’re ready, stand up straight kick
out your back wheels, with the majority of your weight on your back foot. If your front wheels come off the ground a
little bit, that means you have your weight in a good position. Once your board rotates all the way, finish
rotating your shoulders and turn your head to face forward. You can use the same practice step as before
if you’re having trouble getting your shoulders to rotate enough. The key to this trick is trusting that your
board is going to slide under you and committing to fully rotating into your switch stance. Make sure that you’re turning the upper half
of your body, especially your head, all the way around as far as you can before you start
sliding your wheels. That way, you’ll already be in the mindset
of riding switch, and your feet and board will naturally align themselves with the way
your head and shoulders are oriented. If you have any questions, feel free to ask
them in the comments section below, make sure to subscribe for more trick tips, and as always,
have fun.

Woa, cool. I won a singular pink shoelace by putting a ticket in a box. They labeled it as a useless joke reward,

Is it just me, or does the board squeaking on the ground kind of sound like a low-pitched version of Hedwig's screech from Harry Potter
