BRIAN: NEARLY A QUARTER OF A MILLION HOVERBOARDS HAVE BEEN RECALLED BECAUSE A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD CONNECTED TO THE LITHIUM ION BATTERIES THAT POWER THEM. BACK IN MARCH, TWO CHILDREN DIED AFTER A FIRE STARTED BY A RECHARGING HOVERBOARD BROKE OUT ON LEXINGTON STREET IN HARRISBURG. IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARD, THE CONSUMER PRODUCT SARETY COMMISSION ISSUED A WARNING TO STOP USING THE BOARDS SOLD UNDER THE NAME LAY-Z BOARD. MORE THAN 100 FIRES CONNECTED TO RECHARGING HOVERBOARDS HAVE BEEN REPORTED ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN THE LAST TWO YEARS.
